Holiday Hamper Program

Let's make Christmas BRIGHTER for families in need.

Once again, we look forward to partnering with the Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre to help support their Holiday Hamper Program. What an opportunity to practically show our community that we as a church are FOR them and #FORwilmot.

The Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre anticipates the need in our community will continue to grow, and they are preparing to provide 200+ hampers to individuals and families in our community. Each hamper will contain age-appropriate gifts and a grocery gift card provided by sponsors as well as top-up items such as mitts, hats, socks, and other holiday comforts provided by community groups. 

Here are some ways you can get involved in this meaningful program.

If you choose to sponsor a family you will receive a list of items to purchase for a family. This is a great opportunity for a life group or family to work together to bring joy to a local family in need. You can select the size of family you would like to sponsor and then you will receive more information!

Estimated cost of sponsoring a family:

• 1-2 persons (plan to spend up to $200 total)
• 3-4 persons (plan to spend up to $400 total)
• 5+ persons (plan to spend $500 or more total)

Donations will be collected by Wilmot Centre Church and used towards purchasing items for the Hampers that WCC is responsible for assembling.

If you would like to give a financial donation, you can give in any of the following ways:

1. E-transfer to office@wilmotcentre.church
2. Online Giving (wilmotcentre.church/give)
3. Debit Station (located at the Connect Desk)
4. Offering boxes during Sunday services (located at the back of the auditorium)

*Any donations made should be marked for the Holiday Hamper Program.

There are a number of items that are donated less often and are most-needed for the Holiday Hampers program. If you would like to purchase and donate these items, you can leave them at the church office. A full list of the most-needed items is below.

Gifts for Teens & Older Children

Art supplies, sketchbooks, puzzles, games

Small Gifts for Adults

Treats, puzzle books, mugs, Tim's gift cards - men's gifts are least donated

Underwear

Especially for men, women, teens, and boys

Men's Gloves

Blankets

Especially those for adults or older children (not baby blankets)

Toiletries

Toiletry gift packages are sold at most drugstores during the holiday season, and make great gifts for teens and adults

Grocery Gift Cards

The Wilmot & Wellesley Resource Centre needs a lot of hands to count inventory, help pack boxes and do deliveries. If this is an area you would like to serve, you can fill out the Holiday Hamper Volunteer form. We will include a link to the volunteer form when its made available by WWRC.
