WHERE WE SERVE
We live in San Francisco, CA in a neighborhood called the Tenderloin. It is notorious for homelessness, people struggling with drug and alcohol addiction and mental illness.
OUR MISSION IN A NUTSHELL
Our mission statement is Engaging the City with a loving God. God has strategically placed us in a very needy and diverse neighborhood and city to bring His light and transformation into the lives and streets of the Tenderloin through a number of ways; drop in center to provide felt needs (haircuts, showers, toilets), relationship, prayer and discipleship, dance classes for girls, ESL for Arabic women and women’s lunches for friendship. In the broader picture we oversee the different works in the San Francisco Bay area and our mission statement is the same. Engaging the Bay area with a loving God. We have the 10/40 window and world at our doorstep and the deepest burden on our hearts is reaching the unreached at our doorstep. We have a deep and growing work amongst Afghans and now Iranians and amongst Chinese scholars who come to Berkeley for further study and to learn English. There is more, but it will take up too much space.
WCC CONNECTION
Our connection to WCC goes back to 1982 with Glen Gibson. Tim came with a YWAM outreach team to Wilmot, and the church began supporting us then as we made our way to India for 25 years. WCC has been one of our longest and most faithful supporters in our 44 years in ministry.
MINISTRY TIMELINE
We moved to San Francisco in 2007 and stepped into a already existing ministry. We are committed for life, whatever that means.
HOW TO SUPPORT
Prayer is our biggest need continually. We send out a prayer letter each month. If there were a couple
people who wanted to pray and keep closer contact on needs here, that would be great. We pray weekly
for you and we would appreciate specific prayers we could be praying for for you.
