WHERE WE SERVE
We are a part of YWAM Kona, and live in Kona, Hawaii. We do the majority of our training and ministering at YWAM Kona but also frequently travel and help minister at other YWAM bases all over.
OUR MISSION IN A NUTSHELL
Our mission would be to care for the broken hearted, children at risk, and to train the church to be effective in mercy ministries. We train our students to be the hands of feet of Jesus and how to walk as compassionate men and women of God. We have launched different projects, initiatives, and events all centered around the poor, children and women at risk, and community development. We want to see the neighborhoods of Kona transformed and from there, a model community transformation and mercy ministries going out to the nations.
WCC CONNECTION
Melissa’s family has been a part of the WCC congregation for many years and many of our friends are there as well. Melissa was a part of the youth groups there years ago and Judy and Darren Michael her parents continued to go there after she joined YWAM to be a missionary. Over the years we have gotten close with the pastors of WCC including pastor Wayne who came to Hawaii to marry us at our wedding ceremony in 2011. We plan to visit WCC 1-2 times a year and catch up with friends and family there.
MINISTRY TIMELINE
We started leading Compassion Ablaze in 2012 and plan to continue as part of our career in missions as missionaries with YWAM.
HOW TO SUPPORT
Financially and in prayer. We would love to see pastors from WCC join us in Kona or on other outreaches around the world to be a part of the work we do with YWAM. We would love to see more teams from WCC sent to the nations and be a connection for them to future outreaches.
