The Benson Family

We live and work in Stouffville, Ontario, but we carry out our MissionPREP programs in Guelph at the Guelph Bible Conference Center and in Cambridge at the Heritage Bible College and Seminary.

We work with MissionPREP, an organization which organizes and facilitates missionary training courses to help missionaries from Canada and the United States who are preparing for or returning from cross cultural ministry. We work with other facilitators to offer these programs at various times during the year including: IMPACT- a 2-week program for cross cultural and ministry orientation, PLANTS- a 2-week language acquisition program, and RE-VIEW- a 5-day debriefing program for missionaries returning from the field or desiring to process their mission experience. (www.missionprep.ca). MissionPREP served over 150 adults and children in 2018. We also collaborate with other missionary organizations to encourage missional training endeavors and we provide training and team building for our facilitators. Ken is the Director of MissionPREP and Carolyn assists Ken and directs the children’s program.

We knew the Mills family well and have spoken at the church several times during our 20+ years as supported missionaries with Wilmot Centre Church.

We began our ministry with World Partners in Portugal in 1998, transitioned back to Canada in 2011 and have been involved with missionary training with Cross Training and now MissionPREP since returning.

1) Pray for the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest field.” Mathew 9:37-38

2) Pray that more mission agencies would recognize the need for debriefing missionaries.

3) Pray that God would send along missional leaders to support us in the work at MissionPREP.

4) Send a mission committee representative from WCC to sit in on a day of training to understand what we do so they can motivate the church to pray for MissionPREP.

5) Invite us to share about our ministry amongst the saints at WCC.
