Small Groups

Circles are better than rows.

Life is Better Together!

We were created by God for community - to learn and laugh and cry and serve with others. Small groups are essential for the spiritual growth of the church.

One of the big things you need to know about our church DNA is that small groups are at the heart of how we interact with each other. Simply put, we want to be a church of small groups and not a church with small groups.

Small groups provide opportunities for life connections, relationships, accountability, ministry opportunities, spiritual growth, and simple care. We see small groups as the primary place for team members of our church to Connect, Grow and to Engage together.

Our Small Groups meet mostly in people’s homes while some also meet via Zoom or at WCC. They’re led by ordinary people who love both God and others, and are committed to learning from the Bible and applying it to life.

At WCC we have three types of Small Groups: Discipling Groups, Life Groups and Missional Communities.

Discipling Groups

These are groups of 3-5 people who meet regularly for approximately 1 hour to intentionally connect, grow and engage. Discipling Groups are intended to reproduce, developing disciples who become able to begin new groups with support.

Life Groups

These are groups of approximately 6-15 people who meet regularly for about 1.5 to 2 hours to intentionally connect, grow and engage. Life Groups are more traditional small groups. While they don’t reproduce quickly, they're intended to build meaningful connection and community, foster spiritual growth and support, and engage in service and outreach together.

Missional Communities

These are groups of 15+ people who are meeting with entire families for approximately 2 to 3 hours to intentionally connect, grow and engage. These groups eat together, learn together and serve together. They are less structured, louder and more fun, as all ages are brought together to learn and walk through life together.

Whether you’re a young parent or a well seasoned adult :), married or single, there’s a Small Group that you fit in with. Or if you’re part of WCC and sense God telling you to be part of starting a new group, we’d be happy to explore that with you.
