What We Believe
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy Word of God, the final authority for faith, worship and conduct (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
God
We believe that God is the Creator and Redeemer, eternally existent in the persons of Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1; Colossians 1:14-17; Hebrews 1:14).
We believe the Father, out of his eternal love, sent Jesus the Son to be the Saviour of the world, and the Holy Spirit to indwell all believers (John 3:16; John 14:16; 1 John 4:14).
We affirm the virgin birth, sinless humanity and divine miracles of Jesus Christ, who died for the sins of all humankind, was buried, rose again and ascended into heaven, from where He continues His ongoing mediatorial work. He will return to receive all believers to Himself (John 14:3; Acts 1:9-11, 1 Corinthians 15:34).
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, regenerates the believing sinner, indwells, fills, guides, instructs and empowers the believer to live a holy life. Through the giving of spiritual gifts, as He wills, He enables the believer to live a life of service that is pleasing to God (John 3:58; Acts 1:8; John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 2; 1 Corinthians 12:11).
Humanity
We believe that humans, created in the image of God, fell into sin and consequently incurred both physical and spiritual death, which is separation from God (Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:7,17; 3:6-24; Romans 3:9-23; Ephesians 2:13).
Eternal Life
We believe that ultimately God will judge the living and the dead, those who are saved to the resurrection of life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of condemnation.
Salvation
We believe that the salvation of lost and sinful humanity is found in none but Jesus Christ, His blood, righteousness, and resurrection, and is received by grace through faith (Acts 4:12).
The Church
We believe the church is a fellowship of all true believers who have been born again by the Holy Spirit into the family of God (Hebrews 10:5; 1 Corinthians 1:2).
